Based in Hampshire, Samantha is a peritoneal mesothelioma clinical nurse specialist.

Samantha started her nursing career at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.  She worked in the critical care department for seven years in a role that later developed into Practice Educator. Samantha also completed a PGCert in Teaching and Learning during this time.

Following this Samantha moved into thoracic oncology and worked as a respiratory clinical nurse specialist caring for lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma patients. This is where Samantha developed a passion for improving the patient and carer cancer pathway experience and she found she had a particular interest in mesothelioma.

In 2018 Samantha was appointed as the first UK peritoneal mesothelioma clinical nurse specialist.  She works closely with the peritoneal malignancy surgical team and the National Peritoneal Mesothelioma Multi-Disciplinary Team.  Samantha has shaped and developed the role which involves supporting, advising, and signposting patients and their families from across the UK.

Samantha has been a member of Lung Cancer Nursing UK since 2013, is a member of the International Thoracic Oncology Nursing Forum, sits on the Clinical Expert Panel for Mesothelioma UK, and was awarded The British Journal of Nursing Oncology Nurse of the Year award in March 2023.

In 2023 Samantha attended extensive training with the Expert Witness Institute, completing their core training.
